Polizzi took eight people struggling with their health and some with life-threatening diseases into the heart of the Amazonian rainforest. While living in seclusion for one month these men and women take part in the powerful healing practices of Peru's indigenous medicine men, working with centuries-old plant remedies, healing diets prescribed for their respective ailments and traditional spiritual disciplines including sacred healing ceremonies.
In their most desperate hour, these patients disconnect from technology and the comforts of home, and are forced to confront not only their physical ailments, but also their own spiritual and psychological barriers in the process.
